Magellan ("we," "us," "our") is a data services company based in Quebec, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit magellanlabs.ca (the "Site") or contact us.

2. What information we collect

When you use our contact form, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your company name
• The subject and content of your message

When you browse the Site, we may also automatically collect technical information through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and how you interact with the Site.

3. Why we collect it

We use this information to:

• Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about our services
• Understand how visitors use our Site, so we can improve it
• Follow up with you about our services beyond your initial inquiry, where relevant

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you fill out our contact form, and automatically through cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager) when you browse the Site.

5. Consent

By submitting the contact form, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. Where required by law, we will ask for your explicit consent before activating non-essential cookies or tracking technologies (see Section 6).

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site. Non-essential cookies, including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, are switched off by default. When you first visit the Site, a banner lets you accept or decline them — if you decline, these tools do not load. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of the Site.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep the personal information collected through our contact form for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, and for no longer than 24 months from our last contact with you, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Who we share it with

We may share your information with service providers who help us operate our business, such as:

• Google (Gmail, for email correspondence)
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (for Site analytics)
• Netlify (our website hosting provider, which also processes contact form submissions)

These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us.

9. Transfers outside Quebec

Some of our service providers (for example, Google) may store or process information on servers located outside Quebec, including in the United States. When this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection, in accordance with Quebec law.

10. Your rights

Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request that inaccurate information be corrected
• Withdraw your consent to the collection or use of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
• In certain circumstances, request that certain information be de-indexed or cease being disseminated

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12.

11. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
